Whether you are a Representative for a large, multi-national corporation in charge
of a territory some distance from the home office; or, whether you are a Realtor

And we call it tele- "scouting" to distinguish it from the traditional
tele "marketing" most people are nauseatingly familiar with. Alternatives
Unlimited Inc. does NOT Tele-Market!
The primary difference between the two is that in Tele-Marketing the
caller is trying to close a sale right then and there. In Tele-Scouting
we seek out interest and schedule appointments for the Representative to get back
to them. Tele-Scouting also provides feedback on the market conditions and consumer
reactions to improve the approach accordingly. Tele-Marketing just abuses the
"numbers" aspect of the process with no regard to proper procedure or
ethics.
Tele-Scouting is also a "word-of-mouth" advertising campaign. No one
can effectively "toot their own horn". Yet even if someone a person
does not know very well to begin with calls and provides information, it allows
the potential customer that space between the introduction and the actual sale
opportunity to breathe and really think about it.
So, needless to say, Tele-Scouting requires many more than one call to the potential
customer for you. It often takes a minimum of five calls; and, more often up to
eight calls before an appointment is secured for you. But, that appointment will
be a qualified one!
