What is Branding?

  • A brand is defined by your best product and your worst product.
  • It is perpetuated by the accomplishments of your best employee as well as by the mishaps of the worst hire in company history.
  • It is projected by the receptionist and the music customers are subjected to when placed on hold.
  • It is measured by every grand and finely worded public statement by the CEO, as well as by customer comments overheard in the hallway.
  • Brands are sponges for content, images, and for feelings that become psychological concepts held in the minds of your customer and the public - where they stay forever.
  • As such, you cannot entirely control a brand...
At best, you can only guide and influence it.

Therefore, does it not deserve your very best effort in doing so?
